Happy Lunar New Year!
Happy New Year! Happy Valentine's Day!
(Written in Hangul - Korean Language Characters - will be added once it is supported here on the website.)
The lunar new year started today, and there were celebrations world-wide. It also happens to be Valentine's Day, but this is a rare "once-in-a-lifetime" type of occurance.
In Korean, the lunar new year is known as Seollal, and is a very important holiday in Korean culture.
The same greeting used for the calendar new year (January 1) is used for this holiday: saehae bok mani badeuseyo. In South Korea the lunar new year is a three-day holiday period.
